Basically, the blade shape section of this propeller is parabolic and raked aft rather than flat as is conventional.   This parabolic blade design reduces water "slipping off" the cupped blades and therefore creates greater efficiency from a more direct forward drive.   This propeller is ideal for ski racing and high speed use, particularly with boats using a step up gear ratio.

This totally new design of folding yacht propeller, manufactured in Stainless Steel, has basically superseded all other folding yacht propellers of similar application.

3 blade fixed inboard

Conventional cruiser type propellers can cause tremendous drag on sailing boats.   For this reason we supply a range of narrow bladed tow and three blade yacht propellers.   These units are available in left and right hand rotation with maximum blade width one quarter of the propeller diameter.   This compromise design technique can give quite reasonable performance with auxiliary engines under power and also provide very low drag under sail.

Due to the reduced blade area of these propellers, a two blade should be selected which is about 8% larger in diameter than a normal area three blade or about 4% larger for the three blade yacht model.

In response to enormous popularity of saildrive units in recent years there has been a range of aluminium three blade propellers developed to specifically suit these units.
Basically these propellers are designed for use on cruising yachts where auxiliary power and smoothness are of more importance than maximum sailing speed.

These propellers have larger blades than our other 2 and 3 blade fixed or folding yacht propellers therefore this design provides greater efficiency and maneuverability.   The propellers are cast in a corrosion resistant aluminium which significantly reduces the potential problem of corrosion and electrolysis which can occur when a bronze propeller is fitted to an aluminium saildrive unit.

For the fastidious yacht owner.   Under sail the blades of this Autostream propeller feather into the line of water flow ensuring virtually no drag.   Under auxiliary power the blades swivel to the full pitch position to efficiently drive the boat either forward or reverse.

These propellers are made in 2 and 3 blade types from 15 to 26" (381 to 660mm) diameter and are designed to take up to 120 H.P.
The working parts are extensively CNC machined with models available for both inboard and saildrive engines.   The propellers all have replaced "Delrin" and "Garmax" bearings throughout and have a sacrificial anodic tail cone.

The forward or reverse pitch can be altered by external screws to custom match he propeller pitch to suit the boat, engine and usage.

The Autostream feathering propeller is designed especially for sailing yachts and it is proportioned to comply with I.O.R regulations.
